| The majestic baroque front of the organ in Heiligelinde graces the cover of this CD. This instrument with its larger-than-life angels equipped with a special mechanism for setting them into motion is a lucky find, and the MDG team enlisted the latest digital technique for it already during the 1984 recording sessions. Consequently, this one-of-a-kind sound documentation of ten East Prussian organs can now be smoothly transferred to CD in the original sound. The fact that the organ in Dietrichswalde no longer exists makes this document all the more valuable. |
