In the summer of 1985 FYC’s debut 45 Johnny Come Home leapt out of transistors and demanded attention. Hailing from Birmingham 2/3rds of the group had the previous summer still been very much part of former Two Tone heroes The Beat who’d subsequently disbanded. With the striking Roland Gift now fronting this new 3-piece the politically aware group would over the next 4 years become one of the most globally successful pop bands of the 80s. Chart hits on both sides of the Atlantic, number one singles and albums, sell-out tours and returned awards all followed. This collection boasts hits, 12” mixes, key album tracks and rare b-sides, a number of which make it onto CD for the first time.
• Boasts 30 tracks from these 80’s pop sensations.
• Features 8 UK top 40 hits including 4 top 10’s.
• Lead singer Roland Gift will be doing press and radio to support this releases and has been interviewed for the sleevenotes by the groups original press officer Eugene Manzi. |
