| The music composed by the court music director Johann Christian Hertel for the birthday of his noble employer, Duke Adolph Friedrich von Mecklenburg-Strelitz, was supposed to create a festive mood, and Hertel did indeed do just that. Three trumpets and a timpani corps produce an opulence celebrating the duke's sovereignty and optimally conveyed on this new CD production. |
